原本需要開腸剖肚的外科手術，因為科技的進步，可以藉由內視鏡的幫助，以微創的方式達到同樣的目的。
牙科的手術也可以變得微創。
微創理念的實現需要 術式的創新，材料的進步，器械的發明，還有觀念的更改。
微創植牙醫學會的宗旨在推廣各種預期性高的微創植牙術式，盡可能減少手術的次數，降低術後不適。在無法微創的情況下，盡可能在術中減少組織傷害，在術後縮短腫脹疼痛的時間。
定期舉辦各種微創的植牙課程，希望促進微創技術的普及與發展。
2019年度研究員課程濃縮成三個整天，均安排在星期日。方便遠地醫師參與，節省整個課程完成時間。課程內容加入許多新的元素，邀請多位經驗豐富的醫師，分享更多元的微創技術。希望所有學員能在短時間內進入微創的領域。
